Makerspace Coordinator — MIND+HAND

MIND + HAND is a community and education non-profit that opened in late 2017 on Chicago’s Southwest side in a 5,000 sq/ft space that includes co-working space, a conference room, a large classroom, and a makerspace. My role at MIND+HAND has been to oversee the initial development of the makerspace including the space design, material procurement, and equipment setup. Additionally, my day-to-day work involves creating learning experiences through individual projects, workshops, and multi-week courses.
Learning Technology Consultant — TMW Center for Early Learning + Health @ UChicago
June 2018 – Aug 2018
At TMW, a lab at UChicago focused on 0–5 education & health, I worked on helping the organization with the initial planning of a mobile tech-platform for the delivery of TMW’s interventions at scale in a mid-sized community (pop. 200,000-500,00), which will roll out in June 2019. I led the preliminary user experience research with new mothers in UChicago’s maternity ward, turning TMW’s conceptual documents into high-fidelity, mobile wireframes, and providing guidance on product management & design.
Product Design Consultant — MESH / Sony Entertainment

I assisted MESH, an education technology startup backed by Sony Innovation, that develops an IoT learning kit, as a product design consultant. I worked with MESH on a re-design of their product to better suit the K-12 education market by providing support on user experience research, product documentation, and learning experience design. Served as a Graduate Teaching Fellow for Harvard Graduate School of Education course T-550:Designing for Learning by Creating with Professor Karen Brennan. Ran several workshops ontopics like Arduino 101 and Introduction to Wireframing. Facilitated a section of 12 graduatestudents.
Product Manager — Woobo Inc.

Woobo Inc. is an educational technology start-up developing smart toys using artificial intelligence and kid-friendly speech recognition. I led the design of our educational content, UX/UI research, and managed our marketing strategies. Much of my work involved managing the complexities of designing a product in an emerging area of a well-established industry, which involved intensive internal collaboration between our software, hardware, design, and content teams, along with outside partners.
Our Kickstarter campaign was successfully funded with $337,935 in purchases (including additional pre-orders via Indiegogo). The first batch of Woobo’s was successfully delivered on schedule to backers by our stated Christmas 2017 deadline.
User Experience Researcher (Graduate Internship) — Tech Goes Home

Worked with Tech Goes Home Boston, a digital access and literacy non-profit to evaluate the user experience of the students, families, and community members at the variety of workshops offered by TGH. Conducted 30+ site visits and talked to numerous students, parents, teachers, and community members to help improve the delivery of TGH’s programs.
